PHONE 403-223-3541 VISIT OUR WEBSITE WWW.MDTABER.AB.CA PUBLIC NOTICE The Municipal District of Taber in the Province of Alberta Proposed Bylaw No. 1934 The Municipal District of Taber hereby gives notice of its intention to consider Bylaw 1934, being a byla to address establish alternative methods for advertising statutory notices pertaining to advertising of certain bylaws, resolutions, meetings, public hearings or other things in accordance with new legislation contained within 606 ofthe Municipal Government Act. Bylaw No. 1934 WHEREAS, pursuant to section 606 of the Municipal Government Act, a council must give notice of certain bylaws, resolutions, meetings, public hearings or other things by advertising in a newspaper or other publication circulating in the area, mailing or delivering a notice to every residence in the affected area or by another method provided for in a bylaw under section 606.1; AND WHEREAS, pursuant to section 606.1() of the Municipal Government Act, a council may, by bylaw, provide for one or more methods, which may include electronic means, for advertising proposed bylaws, resolutions, meetings, public hearings and other things referred to in section 606: AND WHEREAS Council is satisfied that the advertising method set out in this Bylaw is likely to bring matters advertised by that method to the attention of substantially all residents in the area to which the bylaw, resolution or other thing relates or in which the meeting or hearing is to be held NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Municipal District of Taber in the Province of Alberta, duly assembled, enacts as follows: 1. Short Title This Bylaw may be referred to as the Advertising Bylaw. 2. Advertising Method 2.1 The Council authorizes the following methods of advertising for any notice to be advertised under section 606 of the Municipal Government Act of a bylaw, resolution, meeting, public hearing or other thing in accordance with the timelines prescribed in Section 606 of the Municipal Government Act: a) By Electronically posting the notice prominently on the Municipal District of Taber official website and/ b) By Electronically posting the notice prominently on any of the Municipal District of Taber official social media sites and/or c) By posting the notice prominently at the Municipal District of Taber office and or d) By Publishing at least once a week for 2 consecutive weeks in at least one newspaper or other publication in the area to which the proposed bylaw, resolution or other thing relates Take Notice that a Public Hearing to Consider Bylaw No. 1934 will be held on: July 17, 201S 10:30 a.m Council Chambers-Municipal District of Taber 4900B- 50 Street Taber, Alberta Any person who claims to be affected prejudicially by the proposed bylaw may register their concerns in writing with the Municipal Administrator no later than 12:00 noon July 12, 2018.
